Powder Coater
Pay: $22-27/hr + 15% shift differential for 2nd shift
Shifts:
- 1st - Mon-Fri (7am to 3:30pm)
- 2nd - Mon-Thu (3:30pm to 2am)
Job Summary:
- We are seeking a skilled Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. The Powder Coater will be responsible for applying powder coatings to metal and other materials, ensuring a high-quality, durable finish that meets production and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of coating techniques, and adherence to safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and clean surfaces of parts and materials prior to coating.
- Operate powder coating equipment, spray guns, and curing ovens.
- Apply powder coatings evenly and according to specifications.
- Monitor coating thickness, color match, and finish quality.
- Mask and protect areas of workpieces as required.
- Load and unload parts onto racks or conveyor systems for coating and curing.
- Inspect finished products for defects, touch up as needed, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred.
- Knowledge of powder coating processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, drawings, and specifications.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable attendance and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to powders, fumes, heat, and noise.
- Use of PPE, including respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, as required.
