Summer School Educator - Specializing in Language-Based Learning Differences

Job Title: Summer School Educator

Contract: Summer 2026- 2 (2-week sessions)

Location: Hillside School, Macungie, PA

The Hillside School, a K-8 independent school specializing in supporting students with language-based learning differences, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated educators to join our Summer Learning Program . This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with students in a dynamic and engaging environment, reinforcing academic skills while fostering confidence and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging, multisensory lessons tailored to students with language-based learning differences.
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support literacy, writing, and math development.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and families.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to ensure a well-rounded summer learning experience.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting confidence and self-advocacy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain certification.
• Specialization or additional training in teaching students with language-based learning differences (LETRS, Orton-Gillingham certification, Wilson Reading System, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Proven experience working with students with language-based learning differences in a school setting.
• In-depth knowledge of language development, literacy instruction, and evidence-based interventions for students with learning challenges.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
