Personal Care Assistant – Autistic Support

  Location:  Clifton Heights, PA 19018 

Employment Type: Full-time 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Job Description

Our client is hiring a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support students in the Autistic Support program. This role involves working closely with special education staff to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), assist with behavior interventions, and provide direct support to students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing IEPs in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines

• Provide one-on-one support to students with autism and other special needs

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success

• Help implement behavior intervention plans and monitor student progress

• Support IEP meetings and contribute to problem-solving teams

• Use multimedia and technology to enhance learning experiences

• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment

• Participate in professional development and school learning communities

• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma (photo or official transcript with signature required)

  • GED not accepted

  • ParaPro test not recognized

• Associate’s degree or higher preferred

• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting

• Familiarity with special education practices and willingness to learn

• Proficiency in educational technology and multimedia tools

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, staff, and families
