Your role as an LPN Prescriber Medical Administrative Assistant includes providing exceptional customer service to ensure the highest quality work standards are achieved and maintained according to practice policies and procedures. You will also handle customer calls by answering questions, finding solutions to issues, scheduling, addressing concerns or complaints, and providing important information. An LPN PMAA should possess superior customer service skills and professionalism, have the ability to multi-task, be conscientious, and compassionate to clients and staff. They must be highly motivated while working as part of a cohesive team in a fast-paced environment. They are expected to protect sensitive information, comply with HIPAA at all times, and maintain composure and professionalism during stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and take patient calls and provide professional, accurate, satisfactory answers to their questions and concerns, including assisting with managing medication refills and prescriber scheduling
  • Guide patients through troubleshooting for telehealth appointments
  • Complete prior authorizations and patient assistance programs for medications when indicated
  • Assist providers in administrative tasks, including those related to clinic licensure and payor compliance
  • Answer general questions about the practice and services provided
  • Answer internal communication questions
  • Coordinate care between patient and providers
  • Schedule patient appointment
  • Collaborate with other team members and locations to provide excellent customer service
  • Help train new team members as needed
  • Prepare patient files for providers
  • Provide overall prescriber and site support in conjunction with Site Coordinators
  • Own and manage medication log book and download prescription monitoring report each day for review
  • Help support clinicians and prescribers on managing waitlist
  • Must maintain a professional dress code at all times
  • Licensed RN/LPN may include coordination and administration of injections

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work well with a team especially in stressful situations
  • Patient and empathetic attitude as well as adaptable and flexible
  • Strong time management skills, detail oriented and organizational skills
  • Computer skills, familiarity with Google Drive
  • Phone skills, including familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential
  • Creating a safe, productive work environment that is patient focused
  • Possess desire to do a thorough job in a fast-paced environment, must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor, and interface well with patients and teammates in a mental health setting
  • Experience in a Medical Office or call center (preferred)
  • Experience as a medical assistant (preferred)
  • Experience verifying insurance, obtaining pre authorizations, and scheduling for multiple providers (preferred)
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations (preferred)
  • Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology and a basic understanding of clinical pharmacology (preferred)
  • Data entry skills (preferred)
  • Experience working with patients who are suffering from anxiety and depression (preferred)
  • Exceptional interpersonal, rapport building, and active listening skills (preferred)
  • CPR certified or willing to become certified through an accredited program (preferred)
