About Us
Good Samaritan Services compassionately responds to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness across Lancaster and Chester Counties, walking alongside our neighbors as they move from crisis to stability through outreach, housing, and ongoing support. What You'll Do as Our Director of Development
- Lead annual fundraising initiatives, campaigns, special events, and development projects that advance our mission and achieve annual revenue goals.
- Cultivate and grow a portfolio of individual donors while identifying and engaging prospective major donors who are passionate about expanding our community impact.
- Strengthen donor relationships through thoughtful stewardship, personalized communication, and meaningful engagement that inspires long-term support.
- Represent Good Samaritan Services at community events, donor meetings, presentations, and partnership opportunities, serving as a trusted ambassador for our mission.
- Support our upcoming transformational capital campaign by coordinating fundraising efforts, engaging donors, and helping drive campaign success.
- Collaborate with our Chief Advancement Officer and a talented team of development, marketing, grant writing, and engagement professionals to align fundraising strategies with organizational priorities.
- Champion our culture of compassion, collaboration, stewardship, and accountability while contributing to organization-wide initiatives that strengthen our impact throughout the communities we serve.

- Experienced Fundraiser: Five plus years of progressive nonprofit development experience with a proven record of securing major gifts, growing donor portfolios, leading successful fundraising events, and delivering engaging public presentations.
- Strategic Self-Starter: You take initiative, stay organized, adapt to changing priorities, and confidently manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of accountability.
- Qualified Professional: You hold a bachelor's degree, work independently while holding yourself to a high standard of accountability, thrive when trusted and given room to run, and confidently read a room to build meaningful relationships and respond with professionalism and emotional intelligence.
- Collaborative Team Member: You thrive in a supportive, mission-driven environment, value teamwork, and contribute to a culture built on compassion, stewardship, generosity, partnership, and shared success.
What We Offer Our Director of Development
- Compensation: $75,000-$90,000 annually, DOE
