Key Responsibilities
- Student Support: Provides 1:1 or small-group assistance, including personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
- Instructional Support: Implements behavioral support plans, assists with instructional activities planned by teachers, and helps manage classroom behavior.
- Safety and Monitoring: Monitors student safety in classrooms, hallways, and during transitions or lunch.
- Documentation: Maintains records on student progress, behavior, and health-related needs as required by Chapter 14 regulations.
- Collaboration: Works closely with special education teachers, therapists, and staff.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
- Skills: Patience, communication skills, and ability to work with students having diverse needs.
- Certification: CPR/First Aid certification or specialized training
