Job Position: Manufacturing Cost Accountant

Pay Rate: $75000.00-100000.00

Description: Manufacturing Cost Accountant (Direct Hire | Full‑Time)

Location: Mt. Pleasant - on site with some remote flexibility

Overview

Our firm is partnering with a well‑established manufacturing company to hire an experienced Manufacturing Accountant for a direct‑hire, permanent role. This is not a contract or contract‑to‑hire position. The successful candidate will join the company’s payroll from day one and receive a competitive compensation package with excellent, employer‑paid benefits.

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within metal fabrication, who enjoys improving processes, strengthening controls, and partnering with leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly financial statements

Manage accurate and timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes

Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements

Maintain, analyze, and improve accounting records and financial reports

Reconcile bank accounts and prepare cash flow reports

Implement rules‑based automation for accounting systems, bank reconciliations, and approvals

Review, enhance, and maintain internal controls for AR, AP, Payroll, Inventory, and Purchasing

Review and maintain the Chart of Accounts and implement company‑wide accounting processes

Prepare and submit tax filings, including sales/use tax and corporate income tax returns

Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities

Collaborate with management to support operational and financial decision‑making

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

8–10 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or similar environment

Metal fabrication experience strongly preferred

Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and/or QuickBooks Online

Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and inventory accounting

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
