Mold technician
Matrix Tool, Inc. is a family owned and operated custom full-service manufacturing operation located in Fairview, PA. We specialize in the design and construction of high precision plastic and metal injection molds and the molding of tight tolerance plastic injection molded components. We are celebrating our 54th year servicing the tooling and molding needs of customers in the medical, automotive, computer / telecommunications and electrical connector markets. We operate in a modern climate-controlled facility and employ approximately 130 staff members capable of offering solutions to our customer’s toughest tooling and molding challenges. We are seeking Mold Assembly Technicians on all shifts to assist with ongoing mold assembly, cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks to support production in our Plastic Injection Molding Division. Primary duties include: (a) Mold assembly and disassembly activities as scheduled to support mold-related preventive maintenance needs; (b) mold cleanings of all internal steel components of the mold to remove buildup and contaminants that create product quality problems; (c) visual inspection of mold components to identify wear or steel related defects; (d) reassembly of the molds per tooling assembly prints to ready the molds for continued production; (e) assisting with mold changeover activities as scheduled to reconfigure tooling per customer order requirements; and (f) coordinating in-press mold cleanings and basic repair tasks (changing worn tooling with available spares, etc.) to keep injection molds in good running condition.
Interested candidates should be mechanically inclined and have previous experience with precision mold assembly and disassembly in an Injection Molding, Tooling or Machine shop environment. Candidates should also be detail oriented, understand the basic function of mold tooling, and should also possess the basic ability to read 2D/3D mechanical blue print drawings. Basic computer skills are helpful, though not required. An independent work ethic and solid communication skills are also required. The ability to cooperate with others and work as a member of a team in a dynamic and fast paced work environment is essential. Significant on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate.
