Secondary English Teacher
Wyncote Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is ideal for an educator who values small class sizes , enjoys working with special education students , and has a strong passion for teaching English language arts.
Position Overview:
The Secondary English Teacher will provide engaging, differentiated instruction to students in a supportive, student-centered environment. Our small school setting allows teachers to build meaningful relationships and make a direct impact on student growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach secondary-level English courses (grades 9–12)
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and consistent classroom environment
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, and administration
- Participate as an active, positive member of the school team
Qualifications:
- Valid Secondary English certification
- Experience working with special education students preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Genuine enthusiasm for teaching English and supporting student growth
