Working as a General Manager
CertaPro Painters® is looking for a results-driven, highly motivated, solutions-oriented General Manager to join our community. The primary role of the General Manager is to lead and support franchisees throughout the United States and Canada to maximize sales, customer experience, and profits in the painting business.
Responsibilities
- First line of communication with Franchisees
- Provide guidance and leadership to franchisees on operations related to the successful operation of a painting business. This will include skill transfer to franchisees and their staff in the areas of leadership, marketing, sales, production, financials, etc.
- Prepare, coordinate, and conduct meetings for the purpose of growing the brand and revenue
- Develop and maintain effective communication with franchisees
- Facilitate and assist in the producing and delivering of training materials and driving growth through meetings, workshops, and other means of support
- Provide input in the development of marketing, sales, production, financial, information technology and training programs for the system
- Lead monthly Franchisee Peer Group of 6-8 members
- Influence and be an inspirational leader to franchisees
- Plan and coordinate Franchise functions to build morale and improve communications
- Regular calls with franchisee
- Field visits with franchisees
- Regular Profit and Loss / Forecast reviews with franchisees
- Facilitate co-ops, regional, and national training
- Other duties, as assigned, using discretionary judgement
Qualifications Required
- Five years of Operations experience
- Five years of achieving results through leading people
- Must have a proven sales background
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Proven ability to execute effective priority management
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
Competencies Required
- Problem solving
- Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience giving presentations to large groups both in-person and virtually
- Excellent skills in discretion and judgment in working with franchisees and confidential information
- Strong computer skills to prepare reports and teach staff and franchisees on how to utilize computer programs designed for CertaPro
- Strong math and accounting skills to enhance ability to develop and implement budgets and financial management programs for the company and franchisees
