Personal care assistant emotional support
Salary: $21.49 USD Hourly - $23.00 USD Hourly
Description:
We are seeking a Personal Care Assistant.
Ideal Candidate Profile:Prior experience as a PCA, Paraprofessional, or Paraeducator in an educational setting (public or private).
Skilled in working with children and students with behavioral/emotional needs (may hit, kick, etc. when they are upset).
Strong interpersonal skills, flexible, reliable, and tech-comfortable.
Able to follow teacher/instructor direction and provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support as outlined in a student's IEP. Core Responsibilities:
Provide academic, behavioral, and personal care support to assigned student(s).
Assist with implementation of behavior intervention plans and crisis de-escalation protocols.
Collect and report data related to student behavior and academic progress.
Support students with activities of daily living (e.g., meals, hygiene, mobility).
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and counselors.
Attend IEP meetings and contribute insights from a support staff perspective.
Ensure adherence to DCIU policies, including dress code, cell phone use, and professionalism. Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Highly Qualified Paraprofessional status (or ability to obtain)
Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Transportation (Must Have a Car)
