Electrical Mechanic
Job Description
The Electrical Mechanic will support warehouse ground-up construction projects by installing, wiring, and troubleshooting electrical systems. This role focuses on conduit installation (overhead and underground), lighting, and control systems while working safely on active construction sites and using lifts and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Install and bend electrical conduit and pipe, including overhead pipe and underground conduit, up to the specified diameters.
- Perform warehouse ground-up electrical construction, from rough-in through final installation and inspection.
- Install, wire, and secure overhead light fixtures and associated electrical components.
- Install and wire 3-way switches and other switching devices according to electrical diagrams and codes.
- Pull, route, and label wires and cables accurately to support circuits, panels, and control systems.
- Wire control and panel boxes, ensuring neat, organized, and code-compliant terminations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and motor control schematics to complete installations correctly.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including motors, controls, lighting, and circuits, using appropriate tools and methods.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and inspection equipment safely and effectively for installation and maintenance tasks.
- Operate a scissor lift to perform overhead work, including conduit, fixtures, and other elevated installations.
- Conduct basic inspections of completed work to verify quality, safety, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Follow all site safety rules and procedures, including OSHA requirements and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Hands-on electrical experience in construction or industrial environments.
- Proficiency in installing and bending conduit and pipe, including overhead and underground applications.
- Ability to install, wire, and troubleshoot lighting circuits, including overhead light fixtures and 3-way switches.
- Experience pulling, routing, and labeling wires and cables for various electrical systems.
- Skill in wiring and assembling control and panel boxes to meet design specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and motor control schematics.
- Competence in troubleshooting electrical systems using systematic methods and appropriate tools.
- Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and inspection equipment related to electrical work.
- Capability to operate a scissor lift safely for elevated electrical installations.
- OSHA 10 certification or the ability to obtain OSHA 10 training in a timely manner.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work accurately and safely.
- Previous experience on warehouse ground-up construction projects.
- Familiarity with inspection processes for electrical installations.
- Comfort working from heights using lifts and ladders.
- Ability to work from diagrams and plans with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills when diagnosing electrical issues.
- Reliable work ethic and ability to collaborate effectively with other trades on site.

Work Environment
This role is based on active construction sites, primarily focused on warehouse ground-up projects. Work involves both indoor and outdoor conditions, including overhead and underground installations. The position requires frequent use of hand tools, power tools, inspection equipment, and scissor lifts for elevated tasks. The workday is physically active, with regular bending, lifting, climbing, and standing. Appropriate workwear and safety gear, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and other personal protective equipment, are required in accordance with site safety and OSHA standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Hazleton, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
