Extended School Year Teacher, John Paul II Center for Special Learning
Position Description
Position Title: Extended School Year (ESY) Teacher Reports to: Principal Position Type: Temporary / Summer Position (5 weeks) Position Overview: John Paul II Center for Special Learning is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support our Extended School Year (ESY) program . The ESY program runs for 5 weeks during the summer and operates on a half-day schedule . This position provides an opportunity to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured, supportive, and faith-centered environment while helping them maintain critical academic and functional skills. Responsibilities- Provide instruction to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities during the ESY program.
- Implement IEP goals and support the maintenance of academic, communication, and functional skills.
- Work collaboratively with classroom support staff and related service providers.
- Maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment.
- Collect and document student progress data as needed.
- Support students' social, behavioral, and communication development.

Qualifications- Bachelor degree in Special Education or equivalent
- Pennsylvania Special Education Certification required
- Experience working with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the John Paul II Center for Special Learning
- Duration: 5 weeks during the summer
- Schedule: Half days 9:00 – 1:00, Monday–Thursday
- June 15-18
- June 22-25
- July 6-9
- July 13-16
- July 27-30
