Hatchery Maintenance Technician

This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of hatchery operations. With a focus on ensuring the proper functioning of equipment including but not limited to Incubators, hatchers, and processing equipment. The individual in this role will maintain an appropriate inventory of parts in accordance with JJS standards to ensure seamless operations.

Essential Job Functions
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance on equipment such as incubators, hatchers, and nova-tech machines.
• Troubleshoot and correct issues promptly as they arise in equipment.
• Change filters on HVAC units according to the schedule.
• Troubleshooting cooling/heating issues in the incubators.
• Maintain inventory parts to ensure equipment is properly preserved and functioning.
• Maintain and perform PM exhaust fans for Egg Washroom, RO Water system, incubators, etc.
• Perform general building maintenance tasks, maintaining generator, lighting, electrical, plumbing, heating, etc.
• Respond to alarms on assigned shifts.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
• Report any potential Food Safety issues to management immediately.
• Report any damages to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings via maintenance work order software program.
• Report any animal welfare concerns to management immediately and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Required Qualifications
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• 3 years of production maintenance experience OR degree in related field, required; poultry or livestock preferred.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical, preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and reading comprehension).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of animal welfare and GMP practices is preferred.
• Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to legibly write entries for record keeping.
• Basic personal computer skills: knowledge of CMMS systems and Outlook.
• Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to satisfy all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.
• Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.

Physical Demands
The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach and service machinery.
• Must be able to visually inspect machines.
• Must be able use both hands for simple/firm grasping.
• The ability to safely ascends/descend stairs constantly.
• The ability to safely ascend/descend a ladder while carrying 40 pounds.
• Must be able to move 50 pounds alone and over 80 pounds with assistance occasionally.
• Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and ammonia.
• Noise level may be loud at times.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, (Rotating weekends 5am-12pm)
5am- finish Day Shift,
