Accounts Payable Specialist

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to own and elevate our daily A/P operations. This role is more than processing invoices — it’s about supporting a mission-driven organization through accuracy, accountability, and strong relationships.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Finance, Executive Leadership, and Board Members, playing a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. What You’ll Do

Own the A/P Function

• Manage and optimize daily accounts payable operations

• Review, code, and process invoices accurately and efficiently

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies proactively

• Maintain accurate vendor files and documentation

• Execute check runs, ACH payments, and related reporting

Be a Trusted Partner

• Serve as the go-to resource for vendor and internal payment inquiries

• Maintain strong, professional relationships with members, staff, and leadership

• Communicate clearly and confidently regarding financial processes

Support Leadership & Special Projects

• Collaborate with Executives and Board Members on special financial initiatives

• Assist with process improvements and system enhancements

• Support month-end close and audit preparation

What We’re Looking For

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

• 2–5 years of accounting or finance experience preferred

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to financial and membership-based systems

• A proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership
