Role Description
This is a hybrid role located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, for a Private Equity Associate. The Private Equity Associate will be responsible for performing financial modeling, conducting due diligence on potential investments, and analyzing financial and operational information. The role involves supporting deal sourcing, evaluating investment opportunities, and assisting in the management of portfolio companies. Collaboration with team members to create strategic plans and generate value for investments will also be a core component of this role. Individual will report directly to the Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer and provide support the Head of Alternatives in business/product development and investor relations.
- Serve as a resource to the Valuation and Investment committees, including research and monitoring and tracking assignments of the committees.
- Source reference materials for investor meetings and general marketing materials.
- Review managers' reports and press releases on a continuous basis. Track organizational changes for each investment.
- Assess and highlight major changes/drivers of asset classes and/or portfolio performance. As needed, highlights risk that may hinder performance.
- Participate in sourcing new managers by performing database screens and meeting and reviewing materials from prospective managers.
- As directed, aid in documenting due diligence process, meeting notes and internal database (CRM).
- Attend relevant meetings and/or industry conferences as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Financial Modeling and strong Analytical Skills
- 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in private markets or investment banking with the ability to conduct comprehensive Due Diligence
- Knowledge of Private Equity processes and industry standards; familiarity with financial markets
- Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- High achievement orientation, self-motivation, a strong work ethic and team player
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
