Certified Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1400-$1440/week
• Assignment Type: Travel surgical technologist job
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital Operating Room (General OR; excludes open heart/cardiac and neurosurgery)
• Location: York, PA 17403 (Pennsylvania healthcare jobs)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/29/2025 – End: 12/29/2025)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour days (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• On-call: 4-6 calls within a 6-week matrix (30-minute response required)
• Weekend Coverage: 4-6 weekend shifts within a 6-week matrix (days, evenings, or nights)
• Holiday Coverage: Required (work 2 of 3 major holidays; no time off approved between Christmas and New Year's)
• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, 18 OR rooms, 593 beds
• Patient Population: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in multi-specialty hospital OR settings (orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, robotics)
• Certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) – CST certification required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC only)
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Level I Trauma experience preferred; Level II Trauma experience required
• Robotics, vascular, and thoracic surgical experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
• Maximum 7 days requested time off per contract

Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the operating room team in a variety of procedures, including robotics, vascular, thoracic, and orthopedic surgeries
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and equipment for all procedures
• Demonstrate proficiency in aseptic technique, specimen handling, and instrument processing
• Respond to on-call and weekend coverage requirements with a 30-minute response time
• Support patient care for all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and radiology
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols and facility policies, including COVID-19 and flu vaccination requirements
• Complete required pre-start modules (5-6 hours) prior to assignment start
