Our client is a leading engineering and environmental consulting firm specializing in solid waste management, landfill engineering, and environmental infrastructure projects who is actively seeking to add a motivated mid-level Civil Engineer to join the design group. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging and meaningful projects, including landfill and solid waste design, environmental controls, and facility development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of landfill cells, final cover systems, leachate and gas collection systems, and stormwater management structures.
• Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications.
• Perform calculations related to grading, drainage, slope stability, and settlement.
• Conduct engineering analyses and prepare design reports.
• Support environmental permitting efforts and interact with regulatory agencies.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist in cost estimating.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews of design documents.
• Conduct construction observation, CQA (Construction Quality Assurance), and site inspections.
• Collect and analyze field data for design validation.
• Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, and field staff during active construction.
• Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, i.e. civil, environmental, and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mining Engineering required.
• Three (3) years or more of professional experience in civil/environmental engineering, involvement in landfill, solid waste, water/wastewater facility design projects
• Experience with grading plans, stormwater design, and geotechnical evaluations preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required).
• Strong technical writing and analytical skills.
• EIT certification desired; working toward Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
