Step into a Day on the Floor

You roll in on first, second, or third shift, grab the latest shop drawings, and map out your plan. You select plate and beam, cut to spec with saws and torches, prep your joints, and fit assemblies tight. MIG is your go-to, with TIG or stick in your back pocket when the job calls for it. Throughout the day, you bounce between shears, a press brake, and the drill press, checking every dimension against the blueprint before making that final weld. You sign off on quality, keep your bay organized, and never compromise on safety.

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Structural Steel Fabrication Specialist to build and weld structural components from detailed blueprints and shop drawings in a true job-shop (non-production) environment. Precision, independence, and craftsmanship define this role.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $22–$26 per hour
• Shift Differential: Additional 15% for 2nd and 3rd shifts
• Shifts: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd

What You’ll Tackle

• Interpret complex drawings and specifications to fabricate structural steel assemblies
• Cut, bevel, and shape material using saws and oxy-fuel/torch equipment
• Fit and weld components to tolerance (primary MIG; TIG and stick a plus)
• Operate shop machinery: shears, press brakes, drill presses
• Verify measurements and alignment; perform in-process and final inspections
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work cell
• Follow company safety procedures and industry standards at all times

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication or related trade
• Comfort working in a job-shop setting (custom, varied builds— not production)
• Proficiency in MIG welding; exposure to TIG and stick welcomed
• Strong blueprint literacy and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Familiarity with steel fabrication tools, measuring devices, and machinery
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality control
• Physical capability to handle heavy materials and work in an active shop environment
