GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides clinical support between patients and physicians.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assesses patients and test results, reviews results with physicians and ensures patient communication regarding results and/or recommendations per physician order. (30%)
• Assesses health status/needs during the ambulatory visit or over the phone using interviewing skills and nursing knowledge. Formulates and communicates an action plan. Implements plan and/or action after discussion with responsible physician. (20%)
• Coordinates and schedules all patient testing including surgeries and coordinate OR schedule. Assess blood work prior to surgery. (10%)
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn. (10%)
• Provides clinical support during office hours. (30%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Nursing School Diploma

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)

• 2 years experience in clinical specialty

• CPR – American Heart Association

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

• BA/BS Degree
• Experience as an RN in the area of specialty, ambulatory experience, cardiovascular experience, and outpatient setting experience.
• SICU or Surgical experience
