Buyer
A Buyer is needed for a company that produces electronics and HVAC equipment for buildings in the Waynesboro, PA area. This job is responsible for managing MRP demand and replenishing stocks from suppliers and intercompany plants within the metal-mechanic or HVAC industries, requiring a Bachelor's degree or 3 years of experience and proficiency in SAP to ensure on-time delivery and minimize inventory stock-outs. location: Waynesboro, Pennsylvania

Procurement and Supplier Management:
- Analyze MRP demand and replenish stocks in a timely manner.
- Place Purchase Orders (PO) and Stock Transport Orders (STO) on time to suppliers and feeder plants.
- Obtain confirmation dates or estimated times of arrival (ETA) for all purchase orders.
- Align with suppliers and feeder plants on requested dates to avoid production impacts.
- Review the status of open lines and manage purchase orders to avoid past-due status.
- Monitor vendor performance and on-time delivery metrics.
- Resolve problems related to delivery, pricing, and invoicing with vendors promptly.
- Ensure correct receipt of goods within the SAP ERP system.
- Attend daily production meetings and execute exception messages on a regular basis.
- Communicate risks related to purchased items and shortages to the Planning and Production areas.
- Analyze Line of Balance (LOB) when vendors experience issues.
- Escalate procurement issues through correct channels, such as the JIRA process.
- Analyze monthly forecasts and distribute them to suppliers and feeder plants.
- Implement projects aimed at reducing inventory levels and managing excess or obsolete items.
- Resolve discrepancy problems by collaborating with Warehouse and Logistics teams.
- Address invoice discrepancies assigned in the accounts payable system (Maple).
- Support other departments to ensure corrective actions are in place for vendor development.
- Assist with quality escalations, ISO requirements, and engineering changes for purchased items.
- Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of experience in a purchasing or planning role.
- Direct buyer experience within a manufacturing company (specifically metal-mechanic, refrigeration, electronic, or HVAC industries).
- Experience working closely with Purchasing, Planning, and Production departments.
- Experience in manufacturing planning programs and production sequences.
- Proficiency in Materials Requirement Planning (MRP).
- Knowledge of SAP (highly preferred).
- Fluent in English.
