Salary: $18.90-$20.90

The Activities Assistant's role is to assist in ensuring our residents are able, to the greatest degree possible, to continue to enjoy their lifelong/preferred daily routines and enjoy programming consistent with their preferences in accordance with their assessment and care plan. This position is considered Modified Full-Time and the individual will work 52.5-75.0 hours every two-week pay-period. Hours are 12:00pm to 8:00pm and the schedule includes every-other weekend and every-other holiday.

Job Duties:

• Assist in leading and implementing the activities and programs of the facility;
• Encourage and support residents' participation in programming activities;
• Observe and document attendance, resident mood, behavior and involvement in programming activities;
• Ensure residents are able to maintain their lifelong routines and enjoy programs consistent with their preferences;
• Arrange transportation for off-site trips, when necessary;
• Assist in developing volunteer activity assignments;
• Recommend equipment and supplies to Activities Supervisor;
• Follow resident care policies, code of conduct, HIPAA guidelines and other required protocols;
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positivity, as well as a calm environment;
• Complete all required electronic and manual documentation accurately on appropriate forms; and,
• Develop and maintain good working relationship with interdisciplinary team, as well as within your department.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred;
• Preference will be given to individuals with activities experience in long-term care settings;
• Valid PA Driver's license is preferred;
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and governing agencies;
• Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel;
• Must have the ability and willingness to learn basic computer skills;
• Must have the ability, with or without accommodation, to meet the physical requirements of the position.
