Reports to: Senior Manager, Clinical Systems Manager

Purpose

The Clinical Systems Manager leads the design, development, and optimization of our proprietary in-house software system, SWFT (Specialty Workflow & Fulfillment Technology), used to manage medication programs for patients with rare and complex diseases. The Clinical Systems Manager serves as the primary liaison between pharmacy operations, clinical stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure SWFT supports both current workflows and the evolving needs of medication program design.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all build, configuration, and process improvement initiatives within the SWFT platform to support existing medication programs and new programs as needed.
  • Translates clinical and operational needs into functional system designs.
  • Manages end-to-end system enhancements, including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborates with internal development or engineering teams to implement and validate technical solutions.
  • Conducts routine assessments of system performance, identifies gaps, and implements optimizations.
  • Provides troubleshooting assistance and solutioning as required.
  • Serves as the SWFT subject matter expert (SME) for medication program workflows, especially as they relate to digital design and system integration.
  • Evaluates clinical and operational implications of development requests and provides recommendations for workflow alignment.
  • Oversees a portfolio of development and enhancement requests, ensures timely execution and alignment with pharmacy goals.
  • Trains and supports pharmacy staff on SWFT functionality and enhancements.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of system builds and update cycles.
  • Identifies opportunities to innovate and scale system capabilities in response to new programs, therapies, or regulations.
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited institution.
  • Licensed or eligible for pharmacy licensure in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of three (3) years as a practicing, licensed Pharmacist.
  • High level of independent judgment, individual initiative, and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a manner that is clear, logical and consistent.
  • Highest level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a pharmacy post graduate residency, PGY-1, PGY-2 or fellowship.
  • Advanced certification (e.g., BCPS, BCOP, CSP, etc.).
  • Deep clinical knowledge base and basic understanding of specialty pharmacy workflow.
  • Experience developing, managing, and executing clinical programs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel).
  • Familiarity with basic SQL concepts and SQL server.

Work Environment

This position operates in a home or professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as reading or working with various forms of data for extended periods of time.
