DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fixed Utility Financial Analyst (FUFA) Trainee within the PUC's Bureau of Technical Utility Services (TUS), you will be assigned to the telecommunications division. In this role, you will develop a strong understanding of the telecommunications industry as well as the state and federal regulatory environment. This knowledge will support your work in performing accounting, economic, financial, and statistical analysis on filings made by telecommunication utilities and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Based on this analysis, you will draft reports, secretarial letters, and commission orders. Additionally, you may also contribute to the administration of various telecommunication funds or other working groups related to the industry.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: These positions are headquartered in Harrisburg. Part-time telework is a potential feature of this position. Successful candidates are required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved by the Bureau Director.
  • To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's Alternate (telework) Worksite must meet the following requirements. The telework worksite must be located:
    • Within a reasonable travel distance of Harrisburg, and
    • Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree with major course work in accounting, economics, finance, or business administration, which included or is supplemented by 15 credit hours in finance related coursework.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
