Payroll Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
- Specializes in key payroll and tax related projects as directed by payroll management.
- Compiles, prepares, processes and inputs payroll information to produce timely and accurate payroll.
- Ensures integrity with data in the system by inputting data accurately and completely.
- Properly administers all payroll-related functions in compliance with the Corporate Payroll Department’s standard operating procedures.
- Audits and approves all payroll transactions related to payroll to ensure compliance from a tax perspective as well as AB policy.
- Prepares manual payments and maintains proper documentation for SOX compliance.
- Responsible for all facets of payroll processing including interfacing with the payroll system and Kronos time-keeping system.
- Responsible for maintaining a high degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, salary data and associate benefits information maintained in the HRIS system.
- Research issues and promptly resolves associate requests and inquiries.
- Ensures that the specific pay group he/she is responsible for is processed in time for centralized processing, contributing to a successful payroll every other week.
- Collaborates closely with other departments within HR Shared Services.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Good understanding of payroll processing software programs, preferably Workday.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and related tax applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations.
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education/Experience:
- Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience; CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred.
