Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client to support high-volume payment operations, ensure accurate financial processing, and maintain compliance across multiple platforms. This role plays a key part in reconciling complex accounts, managing escalated payment issues, and coordinating with internal teams on regulated financial activities. The specialist will also contribute to testing system updates, maintaining department documentation, and improving workflow efficiency. This is a hybrid, temp-to-hire opportunity based in Philadelphia, PA, ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-driven, deadline-oriented environment.
Compensation:
$28.57/hour
Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Hybrid schedule — onsite Tuesday through Thursday (must reside in PA, NJ, or DE)
Key Responsibilities of the Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across multiple financial platforms, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Manage payment controls and risk mitigation activities, including Positive Pay reviews, stop payments, bank file uploads, and check processing.
- Handle compliance-driven processes such as escheatment tasks, IRS levy monitoring, garnishment payment tracking, and 1099 reporting support.
- Resolve internal service tickets, research discrepancies, coordinate with claims and refund teams, and support funding request preparation.
- Maintain departmental procedures, assist with system upgrade testing, and contribute to special projects assigned by leadership.
Qualifications and Skills for the Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist:
- 2–3 years of relevant accounts payable or financial operations experience; a related degree is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of additional Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with financial or claims-related systems (e.g., HealthProof, HealthRules, CareFirst Bridge, PNC ECHO, COR, CMS) is a plus.
- Strong organizational abilities with a high degree of accuracy, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and comfort working within both team-based and individual environments.
