About the Position The Haverford College Libraries seeks a two-year Post-Baccalaureate Fellow whose work will focus on digital archives projects that make Quaker materials accessible to a wide population of users and invite new kinds of engagement with the materials. Based in Quaker & Special Collections, the Fellow will both digitize material and work with born-digital materials to be put onto online repositories, as well as participate in many aspects of the work of the department, including providing reference service, describing and working with rare books and manuscripts, and creating social media posts. The Fellow will have the opportunity to work with Quaker & Special Collections curators, the rest of the Library staff, and undergraduate student collaborators. Mentoring and training will be provided. The Fellow will work on major projects relating to our internationally-regarded Quaker collections during their time at Haverford. As part of multi-year projects, the Fellow will continue to digitize materials in the Collections relating to the American Revolution, as well as supporting the College's upcoming 200th anniversary by digitizing materials foundational to the College's history. The Fellow will scan materials, provide descriptions of individual items or groups of items, and upload materials into our digital repository. The Fellow also will do processing of born-digital Quaker collections. The Post-bac Fellow will focus on projects that build skills to ensure they are prepared for their next career steps, including the potential of entering graduate school. The Fellow will engage with the diversity, equity, and inclusion goals of the department. The Fellow will join a dynamic and collaborative department of 4.5 FTE staff in Quaker & Special Collections. Primary Responsibilities- Engage with Quaker collections in both physical and digital formats
- Scan materials from the collections, create metadata, and upload materials to our digital asset management system

- Provide research assistance to patrons in the reading room and via email
- Engage and supervise student worker colleagues
- Collaborate with library social media team to promote projects and materials from Quaker & Special Collections
- Ensure the College's commitment to diversity and inclusion, particularly in the design and delivery of services provided to the campus
- Bachelor's degree
- Interest in history, libraries, religion, visual studies, or historical narratives
- Prior work that shows attention to detail and a strong balance between quality and quantity of work
- Problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for developing new skillsets
- Ability to work both independently, as a member of a team, and with colleagues and students alike
- Developed interpersonal skills, judgment, and initiative
