Precision CNC Lathe & Mill Setup Machinist — Lebanon, PA

With Cannonball Recruiting, you’ll join a Lebanon, PA manufacturing team that trusts you to own the machining process from setup to final inspection on both CNC lathes and CNC mills. You’ll turn raw castings, bar stock, and plate into precision parts, staying anchored to prints, routings, and work instructions while making smart adjustments at the machine.

What your day looks like

• Start your shift by reviewing blueprints and job travelers, selecting tools, and planning workholding for the first job of the day.
• Set up CNC lathes and mills, locate/zero, verify first-article accuracy, and make routine CNC tweaks (tool and wear offsets; minor G/M code edits).
• Run parts to customer specifications, holding close tolerances—down to ±0.0002 in. when required.
• Measure frequently using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and height gauges to validate in-process and final quality.
• Document results on travelers/routers, inspection checks, quantities, and scrap—accurately and on time.
• Collaborate on fixture, jig, tooling, and workholding improvements to boost repeatability and quality.
• Wrap up with routine machine care and basic preventative maintenance, and keep your work area clean and safe per PPE/safety policies.
• Use material-handling gear (forklift, overhead crane, pallet jack) as needed, per site training/certification.

• Shifts: 1st and 2nd
• Pay: Negotiable based on previous experience and skills

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or GED (technical school/associate degree preferred).
• Hands-on experience setting up and running both CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions; GD&T knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and logging measurements.
• Solid grasp of speeds/feeds, tooling selection, and workholding methods.
• Comfort working independently with clear English communication.

Nice to have

• Background machining from castings and bar stock.
• Familiarity with GD&T and/or fixture/jig design assistance.
• Exposure to manual machining (helpful but not required).

Work environment & physical demands

• Busy shop/manufacturing setting with machine noise, coolants/oils, and metal chips.
• Stand and walk for extended periods; lift and move materials (often up to 50 lbs with assistance/equipment).
