Reunification Program Director
We are looking for a Reunification Program Directorto join our team at YSB! The Reunification Program Director works under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Programs. The Reunification Program Director oversees and supervises a team of Reunification counselors and is responsible for managing the day-to-day smooth running of our Reunification program. Areas of responsibility include staff supervision, contract and budget management, facility and vehicle oversight, and ongoing program evaluation and development. The Reunification Program Director is part of multiple teams within the YSB and across county agencies.
The Reunification program uses an in-home, family focused approach in order to secure a safe and permanent home for children who have been separated from their families due to child abuse, neglect, dependency or delinquency issues. The purpose of the program is to focus on the strengths and needs of each child and family, while using a variety of efficient, time-limited, goal-oriented services and supports to determine the optimal level of reconnection that is appropriate. Our team works directly with family members through case management and counseling to resolve the problems leading up to the family’s separation and to ensure the child can return home safely. If a child cannot return safely home, the Reunification team works on concurrent planning to a permanent home through extended family members, foster parents, or adoption.
Program Director Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Assigns cases referred to the program and manages the initial phase of cases by reviewing intake information, scheduling various provider meetings, and participating in the early assessment cases.
2. Supervises reunification counselors regarding case assignments, activities, and professional development utilizing a variety of methods including side-by-side work, paperwork review, 1:1 supervision, debriefing, and case consultation.
3. Ensures that staff time is well spent, approves time sheets, mileage and other expense reimbursements, vacation, and other time off.
4. Provides informal and formal evaluation to reunification staff, holding staff accountable to their own job descriptions.
5. Manages hiring process for Reunification counselors, participates in other program hiring if requested.
6. Consistently demonstrates commitment to YSB core values of professionalism, respect, integrity, and child safety.
7. Develops and maintains ongoing professional relationships within the YSB and the greater youth serving community.
8. Oversees case records, manages program statistics, outcomes measurements and billing.
9. Participates fully in all assigned teams both within and outside the YSB.
10. Provides oversight of staff preparation for and testimony at court through direct observation and debriefing, and testifies at court when determined necessary.
11. Provides direct service to youth and families as warranted by staffing and/or client need.
