Part Time Shipping Laborer

Summary of Position
Responsible for all the customary duties associated with receiving raw materials and similar items purchased by the Company and the packaging and shipping of finished goods sold by the Company. Raw material receiving includes accurate data entry into the Navision ERP system.
Position Requirements
High School or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED). Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment desired. RAI lift truck certification and lift truck experience required. Valid Commonwealth of PA Driver's License required. PC skills desired. Must have a solid working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Products. The demonstrated ability to perform effectively as a member of a work team and to work individually to accomplish assigned tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Performs a variety of duties associated with the shipping/receiving of Company materials. The duties will include but not be limited to the following:
a. Receives the applicable internal and external documents which support receiving materials and the shipping of Company finished goods. Reviews the documents for accuracy and instructions. In the event there is an error associated with any materials received, is responsible to research the problem and to work with others to implement a solution to prevent a reoccurrence.
b. Takes the actions required to complete the applicable sections of any shipping/receiving documents and forwards the applicable document to Company Inventory Control or to the delivery driver.
c. Operates a lift truck to unload/load vehicles and containers. Properly stores received materials in the assigned warehouse areas.
d. Accurately & timely enters all data related to the receipt of materials necessary to complete the transaction in the Navision ERP system.
e. Properly removes finished goods from the assigned warehouse areas. Accountable to prepare the finished goods for safe and proper shipping. Is accountable to accurately and correctly label all finished good for shipping. In the event of a shipping or labeling error is responsible to research the problem and to work with others to implement a solution to prevent a reoccurrence.
f. Complete and maintain all other records and documents to support work area operations.
g. Collect raw material samples for analysis as needed.
h. Continually monitor the condition and operation of the work area lift trucks, lifting devices, building and hand tools. Perform defined daily maintenance and properly store all hand tools and equipment. When repairs or added maintenance is required, promptly notify a Crew Lead to generate a Maintenance Work Order. Contact Crew Leader to replace expendable hand tools and to suggest changes and upgrades to work area equipment.
2. Learn and follow all Company and work area safety procedures and practices. Responsible for own work safety as well as other employees in the assigned work area. Safely operate a Company truck to move raw material and finished goods to/from the Company Warehouse building. Fuels trucks off-site as required. Use a lift truck to load/unload skids/drums of material at each location. Complete the needed documents to ensure the location of the moved material is recorded.
3. Learn and follow all Company quality system standards to ensure finished product meets customer specifications. Is accountable to know the Company Quality Policy and the work area quality systems.
4. Based on experience in a work area, train new or less experienced employees in all work area procedures and practices. Monitor employee performance and compliance with safety program, Work Station Procedures and Company quality systems.
5. Maintain a self-improvement program through the attendance at Company provided training programs and the completion of course work to develop individual skills, knowledge and expertise. Must successfully complete job specific US Department of Transportation Hazmat training for loading and unloading Hazardous Materials with regular/periodic training updates as required.

Performance in this position is evaluated objectively through daily shipping/receiving volume, the timely completion of assigned work, the demonstrated ability to work independently, the accurate completion of work area documents/records/logs and the observed compliance with Company safety programs and quality systems. Subjectively, performance in this position is evaluated by Supervisor satisfaction with the employee's productivity, the employee's demonstrated skill set, knowledge, expertise and creativity, the employee's ability to work effectively and the employee's continued skill development.

Temperature Extremes: When working Outdoors below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees
Materials, Tools and Equipment Used: Required safety equipment includes hard hat, steel toe boots, industrial safety glasses, hearing protection, fire resistant coveralls, fire retardant jacket, face shields, work gloves and respirator. Operates manufacturing equipment to include forklift, lifting devices, inspection equipment and hand tools such as air nail gun.
