Barista

Alchemy Coffee is a five year old independent coffeehouse with two Philadelphia locations. We make our own syrups, we are building a pastry and food program, and roasting our own coffee is on the roadmap. We are a small company deliberately growing into a bigger one, and the bar is the front line of all of it.

THE ROLE

This is not a first coffee job. We are hiring an experienced barista for our Rittenhouse flagship. Someone who can walk in, learn our recipes, and run a beautiful bar without being managed hour to hour. You will have clear standards, real support, and a lot of trust. If coffee is your craft and your career, and you want to be inside a growing coffee business while it grows, this is for you. If your dream is to open your own place one day, tell us. That is a point in your favor, not a red flag.

WHAT YOU MUST BRING

• Real specialty bar experience. You can dial in espresso, taste for extraction, and hold quality through a rush.

• Latte art. Clean, consistent hearts and rosettas at service pace. Tulips and beyond are a plus.

• Hospitality. You read the room, remember regulars, and make the person in front of you feel like the point of the job.

• Kitchen and prep experience. Real prep work, knife in hand, station clean when you leave.

• Self management. You open, run, and close a bar without being told to. You fix or flag problems fast and ask good questions early.

• A genuine love of coffee and coffee culture, shared without a hint of snobbery.
