**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator**
**Job Description**
The role involves operating heavy equipment on construction sites, including bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, and front-end loaders. Operators must be comfortable working both inside and outside the cab to perform various duties related to site preparation and material handling.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, and loaders to move earth, debris, and materials.
+ Excavate and grade land according to project specifications using equipment.
+ Prepare sites by clearing land, removing obstacles, and ensuring proper groundwork for construction.
+ Handle materials by loading, transporting, and distributing dirt, gravel, and rock.
+ Perform daily inspections, minor repairs, and routine maintenance to keep machinery in top condition.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in grading, dozer, excavator, and front-end loader operation.
+ Experience in commercial construction and site development.
+ Knowledge in operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers and motor graders.
+ Ability to perform fine grading and rough grading tasks.
+ Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
+ 2-3+ years experience operating excavators, dozers, and front-end loaders.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Comfortable occasionally working outside the cab.
+ Flexibility to work at multiple job sites within the Richmond Metro area.

**Work Environment**
Work an average of 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7am-5pm, with flexibility required for some weekends. There are a total of 15 job sites, requiring adaptability to work at various locations within the Richmond Metro area, with the farthest site being 45 minutes from Chester, VA.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
