Technical Support Engineer

Job Details:

Responsibilities

• Develop strong technical knowledge of product lines, including emergency lighting controls and inverter systems
• Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and engineers regarding product application, design, and troubleshooting
• Create and revise technical documentation, including product manuals, specifications, submittals, and technical briefs
• Support customer demonstrations, product evaluations, and turnkey project execution
• Deliver technical presentations and training sessions via phone, virtual meetings, in-person visits, and trade shows
• Collaborate with National Sales Managers to develop sales proposals and customer solutions
• Assist in identifying customer requirements and recommending appropriate product applications or alternative solutions
• Maintain strong customer relationships and provide ongoing technical support throughout the sales cycle
• Travel as required (approximately 30%) to support customer needs, training, and project activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical work experience
• 3+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or customer-facing technical support
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with understanding of electrical systems or circuitry
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide effective solutions
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working in a results-driven, team-oriented environment
• Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in outside sales or manufacturing equipment sales
• Background in electrical applications, lighting controls, or power systems
• Familiarity with emergency lighting systems, inverters, or related technologies
• Experience supporting engineers, contractors, or distributor networks
• Strong understanding of competitive positioning and technical product comparison
