Travel Laboratory Pathology Assistant Job

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathology Assistant to support pathologists in the preparation and analysis of tissue specimens. Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.
- Prepare and process tissue samples for histological analysis.
- Assist with postmortem examinations, including autopsy procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of specimen handling, documentation, and pathology reporting.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, OSHA).
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment relevant to surgical pathology.
- Adapt quickly to different laboratory workflows and contribute effectively to each healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program .
- ASCP-PA certification required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in surgical pathology or autopsy services preferred.
- Proficient in gross anatomy, specimen photography, and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
- Willingness and ability to accept travel assignments to various laboratory locations.
