Premise Health is seeking a PRN Family Physician’s Assistant to join our on-site Health Center in Hanover, PA. Our mission is to help people get, stay, and be well, and we are looking for clinicians who are passionate about delivering high-quality primary care services to employees and their dependents aged 3 and older. This role combines acute, episodic, and preventive care while supporting overall health and wellness of the client population.
The Physician’s Assistant will work independently within the scope of practice while collaborating with the care team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. This PRN role offers flexible scheduling aligned with the Health Center’s operating hours:
- Monday: 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 2:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday: 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
This position plays a critical role in supporting clinic operations, patient flow, and continuity of care while providing meaningful occupational and primary healthcare services.
What You’ll Do
- Provide care for injury and illness, perform physical exams, urgent care for employees, emergency care, and preventive health services
- Conduct fitness-for-duty and return-to-work exams
- Deliver evidence-based care to injured workers, coordinating with TPAs and clients for case management
- Implement and monitor transitional duty programs
- Perform clinical procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management
- Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards, including OSHA and DOT evaluations
- Develop patient care plans, document progress, and maintain continuity of care
- Educate patients on treatment plans, wellness, and health maintenance
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care
- Assist medical directors and client stakeholders with health promotion programs, surveillance, ergonomics, and safety initiatives
- Prescribe or recommend medications and therapies as appropriate
- Refer patients to specialists when needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice as required
- Current NCCPA national certification and degree from ARC-PA accredited program
- Federal DEA license and state-controlled substance license as applicable
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required
- Minimum of three years clinical experience in ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice, or emergency department
- Experience in occupational health and workplace safety preferred
- Knowledge of occupational health, orthopedics, musculoskeletal medicine, chemical/biological hazards, ergonomics, psychophysiological stress, OSHA standards, and recordkeeping
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication skills with patients and clients
- Ability to train, problem-solve, and manage workflow effectively
