Lower School Literacy Teacher

Lower School Literacy Teacher
Wyoming Seminary has an opening for a full-time 8th Grade Literacy Teacher and Speech Program coordinator to start in August 2026. This position involves teaching 8th-grade literature, writing, and grammar. This position also coordinates our capstone 8th-grade speech program. Ideal candidates must possess a willingness to work closely with colleagues, participate in co-curricular activities, and perform other duties as expected.
Our faculty is deeply committed to the entire student experience. Faculty responsibilities are expected to include a combination of student support, involvement in campus life, committee work, and extracurricular activities. Applicants must be dynamic individuals who are passionate about their discipline, collaborative and innovative in their approach to teaching, and who embrace and support the diversity of our student body through their curriculum and pedagogy.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a master's degree
- Teaching experience preferred
- An appreciation for, and commitment to, literacy education

- An ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and growth
- A lively sense of humor, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and a willingness to become a fully invested member of our community
