Job Summary
Th e Mechanical Technician Trainee supports maintenance and production operations by ensuring timely equipment readiness and improving maintenance efficiency. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn and grow in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Job Description
- Tear down, clean, and service oilfield tools (wash bay, power washing, disassembly)
- Use basic hand tools such as drills and grinders
- Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in problem-solving activities
- Maintain equipment in accordance with maintenance programs and reliability strategies
- Accurately document maintenance activities, parts usage, and labor in maintenance systems
- Support efforts to reduce downtime and improve equipment turnaround time
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Assist in failure investigations and repair processes as needed
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Shift: 1st shift, 7am - 5pm M-F or 2nd shift, 3pm - 1am and e very other weekend required
Skills Required
- Minimum 1 year of work experience (entry-level candidates welcome)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Familiarity with hand tools and shop equipment
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
- Experience with maintenance systems is a plus
- Forklift or crane experience is helpful (recertification provided if needed)
- Team-oriented environment with collaborative, interdependent tasks
Education
- Require d: High school graduates with mechanical aptitude are acceptable.
Additional requirements
- Training provided on-site
- Industrial setting supporting maintenance and production operations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform manual labor including standing, lifting, and tool operation
- PPE provided: Hard hat and standard safety glasses
Pay rate
- $19 - $22.50 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
