Compensation

CVOR Surgical Tech Job Details – York, PA

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 29, 2025 – December 29, 2025)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Cardiac Open Heart Surgery Unit, Level I Trauma Center
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM), alternating days off
• On-Call: 1-2 call days per week; 30-minute response required
• Weekend Coverage: Every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 6:00 AM)
• Holiday Coverage: Required for 2 of 3 major holidays
• Orientation: 30 hours
• Facility: Tobacco and fragrance free

CVOR Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience
• NBSTSA Surgical Technologist certification required (no NCCT accepted)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC only)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Ability to respond within 30 minutes when on call
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Must be able to provide care for COVID-19 patients
• Completion of required modules (5-6 hours) prior to start
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract

Key Responsibilities for CVOR Surgical Tech

• Assist surgeons during open heart and advanced cardiac surgical procedures
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and adhere to all safety protocols
• Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment (ECMO, electrosurgical units, etc.)
• Support accurate specimen handling and labeling
• Participate in universal protocol (time out) procedures
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Provide care for adult patients, including those diagnosed with COVID-19
• Follow pressure ulcer prevention, radiation safety, and sharps safety standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
