Laboratory Chemist

job summary:
Direct Hire- Chemist is needed for a local client in the New Castle, PA area. Role will be in a lab environment analyzing. Hiring manager is looking for a candidate with Lab experience from a manufacturing envrionment. Client is offering a base salary + 15% bonus and benefits start day one. 401 K, stock options and relocation assistance.

responsibilities:

• Ensures the accuracy and reliability of laboratory analytical equipment

• Performs chemical analysis of final metal samples, chemistry samples, and product checks

• Performs maintenance and standardization of analytical equipment

• Completes daily reporting tasks: production, hydrogen, chemistry

• Prepares samples for testing

• Maintains sample preparation equipment

• When necessary, reviews and updates procedures

• Identifies and marks jominy samples in met lab personnel absence

• Act impartially, display competency, and work in accordance to Quality System requirements.

• Participates in ongoing analytical testing competency requirements and proficiency testing

• Performs duties in the Metallurgy Lab, when required

• Travel (local, national, international) as required to customers, conferences and other facilities.

• Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules

• Must have ability and desire to work well with others

Performs other duties as deemed necessary

The essential functions of this role include:

• Education: Bachelors (required)
