Janitorial Worker

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Location: University Campus

Job Overview

This full-time Janitorial Worker position supports a large university campus by maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized facilities across multiple buildings. The role focuses on daily cleaning, restocking, light maintenance, and providing courteous service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and clean stairs and common areas
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces
• Empty trash, replace liners, and restock supplies
• Clean desks, furniture, windowsills, and interior glass
• Maintain janitorial closets, vending areas, and equipment
• Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals and PPE
• Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance tasks as assigned
• Interact professionally with campus staff and visitors
• Work collaboratively to ensure consistent service across buildings

Qualifications

• 6+ months of janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or general labor experience
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to follow safety and cleaning procedures

Preferred:

• Valid driver’s license
• Floor care or machine operation experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
