Job Overview:
Laurel Valley Farms, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Financial Operations Specialist to manage accounts payable, ensure accurate inventory audits, support month-end accounting processes, and assist with general ledger (GL) reconciliations. This role also includes virtual check deposits, invoice processing, payment management, and light payroll responsibilities . The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management: Process invoices, verify accuracy, match purchase orders, and ensure timely payments.
- Inventory Accounting: Enter inventory data accurately, conduct audits, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain precise records.
- Month-End Closing: Assist in financial reporting, GL reconciliations, and expense analysis to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Bank Deposits: Process virtual check deposits and maintain accurate deposit records.
- Payroll Support: Handle minor payroll tasks, including verifying hours and processing adjustments as needed.
- Data Entry & Review: Maintain accuracy and completeness in vendor invoices, inventory transactions, and payment records .
- Compliance & Record-Keeping: Ensure all financial documents and records comply with internal policies and audit standards .
- Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies, track payments, and maintain positive relationships.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency improvements for accounting workflows, inventory tracking, and payment processing .
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 3+ years in accounts payable, accounting, or financial operations .
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar), Excel, and financial reporting tools .
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to accuracy when entering invoices, tracking inventory, and processing payments.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot discrepancies in financial records and implement solutions.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Payroll Knowledge: Familiarity with payroll processing systems and basic payroll functions is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or inventory-based accounting .
- Familiarity with ERP systems and automated AP processing tools .
