Maintenance Mechanic
Candidates that have a background completing largely mechanical repairs in a manufacturing setting are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect various types of industrial, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic machines for functionality issues
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
- Provide corrective maintenance and preventative measures to machines
- Keep logs of work and report on issues
- Undertake other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Mechanic
- Knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
- Ability to use various hand tools (drills, grinders, screwdrivers, hammers, measuring tools etc.)
- Ability to follow procedures and practices and read instruction, schematics etc.
- Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
- Good communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a plus
- Must have 1-2 years’ experience at a food processing plant
- Ability to read, understand, and follow production schedules, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.
Work Environment
- Cold temperatures (40°F–48°F) in refrigerated processing areas.
- Wet, noisy environment with exposure to raw meat and cleaning chemicals.
- Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Standing for up to 8–10 hours per shift.
