Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing specialized support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings throughout York County. This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate closely with dedicated district staff, delivering essential educational services to learners across multiple schools in Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown. The position is itinerant, providing variety in your day-to-day work as you engage with diverse student populations and help foster growth and independence in young learners.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and current Pennsylvania certification in teaching the visually impaired
• Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings, preferably with school-aged children who are visually impaired
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Adaptability for traveling between sites as the role is itinerant
• Passion for supporting students, building positive relationships, and creating inclusive opportunities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional services and support to K-12 students with visual impairments across various campuses
• Collaborate regularly with district educators, support staff, and families to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to meet each student’s specific needs
• Promote independent functioning, assistive technology use, and orientation & mobility skills
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed educational records
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings and professional development opportunities

This contract role begins August 18, 2026, and continues through June 1, 2026, allowing you to build meaningful connections and see students thrive over the course of the academic year.
