About XpanseHR

XpanseHR partners with organizations to deliver practical, strategic, and people-centered HR solutions. We support clients through outsourced HR services, project-based HR engagements, compliance guidance, talent initiatives, organizational development, and hands-on HR leadership.

We are seeking a Manager, HR Consulting Services who can lead people, manage client delivery, strengthen internal operations, and help ensure our clients receive excellent, timely, and high-impact support.

This is a key leadership role for someone who understands HR deeply, enjoys consulting with business leaders, and can bring structure, accountability, and calm execution to a fast-moving professional services environment.

About the Role

The Manager, HR Consulting Services will oversee the delivery of outsourced and project-based HR services across a portfolio of client organizations. This person will manage and support HR professionals, monitor client engagement progress, ensure work is completed on time and within scope, and serve as a trusted advisor to client leaders.

This role sits at the intersection of HR expertise, client service, team leadership, and business operations. The right person will be able to zoom in on HR technical issues when needed, but also zoom out to manage workflow, priorities, service standards, client expectations, and team performance.

Simply put: this person helps make sure the work gets done well, the team is supported, and the client experience is excellent.

What You'll Do

Lead Client Service Delivery

You will oversee HR engagements and help ensure clients receive high-quality, responsive, and practical HR support. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of client engagements to ensure objectives are met on time, within scope, and with excellence.
  • Advising client leadership on HR strategy, employee relations, compliance, talent management, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Building strong client relationships that support satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership.
  • Monitoring engagement progress, identifying risks or service gaps, and taking corrective action before issues become problems.
  • Ensuring service delivery is organized, consistent, and aligned with XpanseHR standards.

Lead and Develop the HR Delivery Team

You will provide leadership, coaching, and structure for HR professionals supporting client work. Responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring and guiding HR team members to support collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Aligning team resources with client needs and business priorities.
  • Monitoring workload, capacity, and performance across engagements.
  • Supporting knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement across the HR Client Services team.
  • Helping team members grow their consulting, client management, and technical HR capabilities.

Support Operations and Firm Growth

You will contribute to the continued growth and maturity of XpanseHR's service delivery model. Responsibilities include:

  • Improving internal HR processes, tools, templates, workflows, and reporting practices.
  • Supporting resource planning and workflow management to optimize team capacity.
  • Providing insight into client needs, market trends, and emerging HR practices.
  • Partnering with leadership to strengthen service delivery, client outcomes, and internal accountability.
  • Supporting business development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to proposals or solution design as needed.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a strong HR leader who is both strategic and practical. The ideal candidate brings sound HR judgment, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead through influence.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Broad HR expertise across areas such as employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, training, and organizational development.
  • Experience managing client relationships or supporting business leaders in a consultative capacity.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and priorities at once.
  • A leadership style rooted in accountability, communication, collaboration, and professional maturity.
  • Comfort operating in a professional services, consulting, outsourced HR, or client-support environment.
  • The ability to anticipate issues, solve problems, and bring structure to complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS, ATS, payroll, or related HR technology platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Eight or more years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience in HR consulting, outsourced HR, client service, HR generalist leadership, or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise leaders, manage priorities, and support team performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP a plus.
  • Prior experience managing HR professionals or leading service delivery teams.
  • Experience in a professional services or multi-client HR environment.

Why Join XpanseHR

This is an opportunity to step into a meaningful leadership role with visibility, influence, and room to grow. You will work with a collaborative team that values communication, accountability, client service, and practical HR excellence.

In this role, you can expect:

  • Structured onboarding and training on XpanseHR processes, client standards, and service expectations.
  • Access to tools, templates, and resources to support client delivery and team leadership.
  • Clear direction, feedback, and partnership from senior leadership.
  • A collaborative environment where shared success matters.
  • Growth opportunities in team leadership, client strategy, service delivery, and firm-wide initiatives.
