Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

DESCRIPTION:

Join our team as a Demand Planner III at Thermo Fisher Scientific in the Laboratory Equipment Division, where you will help shape the demand plan that connects customer needs, commercial strategy, supply chain execution, and financial commitments. This role will have primary responsibility for the AMER and EMEA regions, while partnering closely with APAC and China planning teams to ensure regional demand signals are understood, connected, and aligned.

In this role, you will develop and manage demand forecasts for assigned product families, business segments, for the AMER and EMEA regions using historical trends, market signals, customer insights, and commercial input. You will aggregate demand signals across all regions, identify risks and opportunities, and help business leadership align around a clear, fact-based view of future demand as part of the SIOP process.

You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Planning, and regional planning teams to understand demand drivers, challenge assumptions, and translate complex data into practical recommendations that support service, inventory, revenue, and operational goals. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, technically curious, and comfortable working across cultures and functions. This role is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys both deep analysis and stakeholder engagement while growing as a global planning leader.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, operations, or a related analytical business role; demand planning, forecasting, or SIOP/S&OP experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret trends, connect business signals, identify drivers, and translate data into clear recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large datasets
  • Experience using ERP, reporting, planning, or business intelligence tools
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain insights clearly to cross-functional and regional stakeholders
  • Ability to influence, build consensus, and partner effectively with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Planning, and regional planning teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support alignment through structured planning routines
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with demand planning, forecasting, SIOP/S&OP, or regional/global planning processes
  • Exposure to SAP, Oracle, JDE, Kinaxis, IBP, Demantra, or similar systems
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics and visualization tools
  • Interest in leveraging AI tools or automation to improve efficiency, strengthen analysis, or generate better business insights
  • Hands-on use of Kinaxis Maestro or similar advanced planning systems
  • APICS/ASCM certification or equivalent supply chain certification
  • Background in new product launches, product lifecycle management, inventory management, or portfolio planning
  • Exposure to life sciences, healthcare, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
