Job Summary
The following challenges await you:
- The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a safe and productive workplace by maintaining and/or improving the building’s structure, facility equipment and systems and process equipment. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations. Ensure that facility is equipped with necessary safety equipment and staff is trained on its proper use.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, electronic components equipment, motors, appliances, and wiring for a building or facility, ensuring safety and operational integrity. Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and related electronics
- Coordinates and oversees activities conducted by contractors. (Project management)
- Perform to maintain a minimal to zero level of process downtime due to facility / maintenance causes or conditions. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that production equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate. Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Assemble, install, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Identify Capital projects. Provide expected cost and timelines for completion of projects.
- Available on call to address building emergencies.
Your Profile
We are looking for people who are not just open to new ideas, but want to bring fresh thinking, energy and a creative perspective to their work. Some of the traits and qualifications the ideal candidate would possess include:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in a role supporting a manufacturing environment is required.
- A diploma from a technical or trade school is required. Must have experience and certification with electrical and one more of the following trades: plumbing, mechanical, controls, and general construction.
- Must be able to understand contracts and systems manuals as well as be able to read blueprints and develop CAD drawings.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner are required.
- Teamwork skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems are required.
