Parts Changer
Job Summary
The Parts Changer plays a vital role in our manufacturing process, specializing in the precise removal and replacement of electronic components on circuit boards. This role ensures the highest standards of quality and reliability through careful soldering, de-soldering, and board inspection techniques. Join our team to contribute to the production of cutting-edge technology in a collaborative and detail-focused environment
Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm
Primary Duties
- Carefully learn and adhere to detailed work instructions and safety protocols to maintain quality and efficiency throughout the parts changing process.
- Support team objectives by performing assigned tasks and assisting with related duties to ensure smooth production flow, even when priorities shift.
- Manage board preparation by placing circuit boards in ovens for processing and completing required documentation, ensuring timely and accurate progression through each manufacturing stage.
- Use specialized plastic digging tools to remove glue residues without damaging sensitive components or board surfaces, maintaining integrity and functionality.
- Skillfully perform de-soldering of capacitors and other components, employing precise techniques to avoid damage and ensure successful component removal.
- Efficiently remove old capacitors and any unnecessary glue, preparing boards for new parts installation while keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Execute complete parts changes by de-soldering defective components and soldering new parts as listed; maintain meticulous attention to detail to uphold product reliability.
- Thoroughly clean all residual flux and contaminants using appropriate solvents or soft brushes to prepare boards for final inspection and assembly.
- Reassemble capacitors and other components onto circuit boards with accuracy, ensuring proper alignment and connection according to technical specifications.
- Finalize component installations by snipping leads neatly and removing finished units from fixtures carefully, readying them for the next production phase.
- Conduct detailed inspections of each board to identify any defects or inconsistencies, documenting findings and communicating with quality control teams for resolution.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, following company health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a productive environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance soldering techniques, tool handling, and overall production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate courteously and effectively with team members and supervisors, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Proven capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as integrate productively within diverse team settings.
- Required to obtain and maintain IPC solder certification, reflecting proficiency and commitment to industry-recognized soldering standards.
- Strong dedication to meeting stringent production targets while adhering to exacting quality requirements and customer expectations.
- Clear understanding of customer needs and specifications relevant to their role, ensuring alignment between production activities and client satisfaction.
- Adeptness at identifying potential non-conformance issues proactively, with the ability to communicate concerns effectively to maintain product integrity.
- Exemplary attendance and punctuality record, demonstrating reliability and responsibility essential for maintaining consistent production workflows.
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling delicate components with precision and care.
- Commitment to ongoing skill development and adaptability to new techniques or technologies introduced in the manufacturing process.
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in electronics assembly, soldering, or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and soldering best practices is advantageous.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial to understand workflow and quality demands.
