Seasonal Groundskeeper

Job Summary:

Assists in maintaining the overall physical appearance of the exterior of the Wesbury campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Mow and string trim assigned areas.
2. Trim and maintain plants, shrubs, and trees in assigned areas.
3. Keep assigned areas free and clear of garbage, debris, and safety hazards.
4. Installs landscape plantings as directed.
5. Operates various hand held equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, lawn edgers, sidewalk edgers, chainsaws, and pruners.
6. Operates and maintains equipment such as push mowers, riding mowers, skid steers, and tractors.
7. Drives pickup trucks, dump trucks, passenger vehicles and occasionally vans, lifts or non-CDL buses.
8. Operates plow trucks in winter as well as various salt spreading equipment.
9. Shovels snow from walks and maintains slip free environment.

Non Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains grounds care equipment, as well as, trucks and tractors.
2. Assists with external resident moves.
3. Assists with resident patio furniture storage, rummage sales, picnics, external set-ups and tear-downs.
4. Transfers/ moves medical, accounting, and human resource records to off campus storage.
5. Stores rummage items, books, and donated items for resale.
6. Assists maintenance with villa turnover preparation.

Working Conditions:

Works out of Grounds maintenance garage. Continuously exposed to every environmental condition from extreme heat to extreme cold. Extended periods of standing, walking, and equipment operation.

Qualifications Necessary to Perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

High School graduate with lawn care and/or landscape experience. Able to lift up to 100lbs. Valid PA driver's license. Ability to run, operate, and maintain all types of lawn care equipment. Safety conscious and able to be on call for winter snow removal. Attention to detail and ability to complete work without direct supervision.
