Description:

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare monthly journal entries and maintains the general ledger and perform balance sheet account reconciliations no less than monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review and provide analysis for monthly results with a focus on cost savings and increasing cash conversion cycle
• Participate with monthly and quarterly inventory counts, identify and implement inventory process improvements.
• Support the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis by running a group consolidation model.
• Maintain fixed asset ledger for the business.
• File monthly and quarterly sales tax for the business.
• Prepares daily bank reconcilations.
• Work with Accounts Payable Lead & Billing Specialist to ensure smooth flow of cash in the organization. Provide backup to those processes, providing coverage for illness, PTO and unusually high demand.
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with Sage, Global Shop and/or Macola a plus.

Supervisory Experience:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel:

This position does not require travel.

Work Hours:

• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. This is an on-site role.
• Departmental demands may necessitate additional work outside of the standard work hours, especially during the monthly close.
