JOB DESCRIPTION:
St. Ignatius of Antioch School is accepting applications for a PART-TIME Director of CARES beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. This position is responsible for the administration and daily operations of the school’s before and after-school extended care program. This individual ensures a safe, nurturing and faith-centered environment for students that meets the needs of school families.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the daily operations of the CARES program, including enrollment, supervising staff, coordinating the billing and communicating regularly with families
Prepare and oversee age-appropriate activities including homework support, recreation and enrichment, while maintaining the school’s commitment to our Catholic values
Ensure the safety, supervision and well-being of all students in attendance
Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding the CARES program
Train and supervise staff (a minimum of 2 CARES assistants), collect timesheets and communicate with payroll manager
Coordinate attendance records and related billing of fees in prescribed software/application
Communicate with Principal on key issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in childcare and/or school programs
Bachelors degree in education or child development preferred but not required
Ability to supervise children in indoor and outdoor setting and respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations
Updated clearances
Must be able work the following hours during the school year: Monday-Friday 7-8:30 a.m. and 3:00-6:00 p.m., in addition to several hours of administrative work per week. Total of 25 hours per week.
